Gene Wojciechowski is a senior national columnist for ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine. Before joining ESPN in 1992, he was a sports reporter for the Chicago Tribune, The Denver Post, the Los Angeles Times, and other publications. He has received four Associated Press Sports Editors national writing awards, among other honors, for his work. He has also authored and coauthored various sports books, including The Bus, the bestselling autobiography of Jerome Bettis. He lives in Wheaton, Illinois.
