Welcome to Duvall, Texas, where Tammy Jo Trask has just unleashed an accidental Armageddon.

When Tammy Jo's misfiring magic attracts the attention of the World Association of Magic, a wand-wielding wizard and a menacing fire warlock show up to train her for a dangerous—and mandatory—challenge. But is there more to their arrival than they claim?

The town comes unglued when a curse leads to a toxic spill of pixie dust and the doors between the human and faery worlds begin to open. To rescue the town and to face the challenge, Tammy needs help from the incredibly handsome Bryn Lyons, but the association known as WAM has declared him totally off-limits…

Dear Reader,

If you are having a bad week, I have something that may make you feel better. A comparison. It turns out there's a girl living in a small Texas town who's probably having a worse week than you are.

In Would-Be Witch, the first book in my "Southern Witch" series, Tammy Jo Trask is innocently trying to be a pastry chef when her family locket is stolen and she comes quite shockingly into her magical (and malfunctioning) powers.

Tammy has to fight zombies and werewolves while dealing with magical mishaps and investigating a crime. She is nearly broke, suspects a friend has betrayed her, and can't understand how she ended up in the middle of a love triangle with two gorgeous alpha males.

When the story ends, she hopes that things will go back to normal. But as anyone who's had a tough week knows, sometimes things get worse before they get better. Get ready for "Southern Witch" Book 2, Barely Bewitched.

Enter the World Association of Magic, a.k.a. WAM. It turns out there are laws governing the use of magic. It turns out Tammy broke them. Not good.

So now Tammy has to face the consequences of her prior actions, but despite a toxic spill of faery dust, a new crop of monsters to fight, and finally learning the troubling secret that's causing her magic to misfire, Tammy never lets anything get her down. Her philosophy is that no matter how bad things are, odds are they'll eventually get better. Don't you just love that in a person? I know I do.

So if you think you'll find yourself in need of a laugh anytime soon, I hope you'll keep my books on hand. I bet they will remind you that no matter what else happens, the one thing that no one can wrestle away from you is your sense of humor.

Warm wishes,

Kimberly Frost
