The New York Times Bestseller Highlights for the Week of November 8th
Penguin Group (USA) has two debuts on the New York Times bestseller list for the week of November 8th: The Scarpetta Factor by Patricia Cornwell (Putnam) hits the hardcover fiction list at #2; and Too Big to Fail by Andrew Ross Sorkin (Viking) is #4 on the hardcover nonfiction list. In addition, DK’s Lego Star Wars by Simon Beecroft hits the #1 slot on the children’s picture books list, in its third week.
Here are more New York Times bestseller highlights:
On the hardcover fiction list, The Help by Kathryn Stockett (Amy Einhorn Books/ Putnam) is #5 in its 30th week; A Touch of Dead by Charlaine Harris (Ace) is #12 in its third week, Rough Country by John Sandford (Putnam) is #15 in its fourth week; and The Professional by Robert B. Parker (Putnam) is #16 in its third week.
On the mass market fiction list, Heat Lightning by John Sandford (Berkley) is #3 in its third week; Scarpetta by Patricia Cornwell (Berkley) is #5 in its ninth week; Covet by J.R. Ward (Signet) is #11 in its fourth week; and From Dead to Worse, Dead to the World and Club Dead, all by Charlaine Harris (Ace), are #10, #15 and #16, respectively.
On the paperback nonfiction list, Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin (Penguin) is #3 in its 143rd week; Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert (Penguin) is #11 in its 143rd week; The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan (Penguin) is #15 in its 110th week; In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan (Penguin) is #16 in its 26th week; The Reason for God by Timothy Keller (Riverhead) is #17 in its eleventh week; and The Wordy Shipmates by Sarah Vowel (Riverhead) is #19 in its third week.
In the young readers sector, on the children's picture books list, Lego Star Wars by Simon Beecroft (DK) is #1 in its third week; Skippyjon Jones, Lost in Spice by Judy Schachner (Dutton) is #3 in its sixth week; Listen to the Wind by Greg Mortenson and Susan L.
