President, Penguin Young Readers Group
Don Weisberg is President of Penguin Young Readers Group, the children's book division of Penguin Group (USA) Inc. Mr. Weisberg oversees nearly a dozen juvenile imprints, including Dutton Children's Books, G.P. Putnam's Sons, Grosset & Dunlap, Philomel, Dial Books for Young Readers, Razorbill, Puffin, and Viking Children's Books. These houses publish some of the most revered children's literature in the world and are home to characters and brands such as Winnie the Pooh, Madeline, The Little Engine That Could, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and Spot.
Prior to being named president, Mr. Weisberg was Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Random House North America. Prior to that, he spent 28 years with Bantam Books, Bantam Doubleday Dell and Random House. Mr. Weisberg began his career in 1980 as a telephone sales representative for Bantam Books. He was born in 1955.
