In this episode of YA Central, acclaimed author Jacqueline Woodson discusses her writing process, the relationships between her characters, and the connection between her writing and her neighborhood, Brooklyn, New York.
Woodson has been nominated and honored throughout her career with almost every major children's literary award including the Caldecott Honor, National Book Award finalist, the Coretta Scott King Award, and the Margaret A. Edwards Award for Lifetime Acheivement. Most recently, she received a Newbery Honor for After Tupac and D Foster.
