Dear Reader Letter and Excerpt from Marjorie Liu's
A Wild Light

Dear Reader,

The release of A Wild Light, the third book in the "Hunter Kiss" series, is just around the corner.

At the end of Darkness Calls, Maxine overcomes a threat from beyond this world, an enemy that promises to unleash yet more destruction upon unwitting humans. In A Wild Light, Maxine discovers the true and terrible implications of her tattoos and demonic heritage. While she struggles to come to terms with what this means, she also finds herself up against an assassin sent from another world—an entire army of demons—and the loss of her memories: memories of the love of her life, Grant Cooperon. Will Maxine's relationship with Grant survive her darkest journey yet?

This book was thrilling to write—and with the stakes this high, I was able to truly examine how Maxine fights not just outside threats, but her literal and metaphorical inner demons.

There have been times when I've felt that I would never reach the other side of an impossible task; hopefully Maxine's journey will resonate with you the same way it has with me.

As the release date approaches, Kelly Armstrong and I will be having conversations with each other on several major blogs that will give you some insight into our writing processes and the thrill of creating characters whose adventures we love to follow.

I hope you'll join me, and I can't wait to hear what you think of A Wild Light!

Best wishes,

Marjorie Liu
