It's awards season again!

By the time you read this, Jack McDevitt may have won another Nebula, the award given by the Science Fiction Writers of America, for Echo, his 2010 Alex Benedict novel. The winner will be announced May 21st, at the official banquet in Washington DC. We all wish Jack luck!

And the nominees for the other major science fiction award, the Hugo (determined by popular vote) have been announced. This year, Ginjer Buchanan is once against nominated for Best Editor: Long Form. Two Ace authors—Alastair Reynolds and Allen Steele—also have short fiction on the ballot.

Plus which we just found out that three of the five nominees for the prestigious Mythopoeic Society award, presented by a committee of judges to outstanding "world building" fantasy, are Ace/Roc Books! Guy Gavriel Kay for Under Heaven, Patricia A. McKillip for The Bards of Bone Plain, and Sharon Shinn for Troubled Waters.

We'll know who won in mid-July.
